Please join us on Saturday, November 12th at the Cleveland Hungarian Museum at 2 o’clock for the third program in our 2022 Fall Lecture Series entitled
The Story of the Golden Bull (Aranybulla)
Our presenter will be Andrea Meszaros. Andrea received her B.A. in History from John Carroll University, and her JD from Case Western Reserve University Law School. In addition to practicing law, she taught Junior High Social Studies for many years and has spent numerous summers teaching at the Hungarian Scout School Camp in Fillmore, New York.
This year we celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Bull. Why would a Medieval monarch choose to grant certain rights and privileges to some of his subjects? Let’s explore together some of the causes that led to the promulgation of the Bull. We will look at some of the provisions of the Bull, and discuss why many historians consider this 800 year old document to be the source and origin of the Hungary’s historical constitution.
As is our custom, after the program, refreshments will be served and conversations among our guests can continue.
We will meet at the Museum located on the Lower Level in The Galleria in Downtown Cleveland.
Parking is available for $7 in the Galleria Parking Garage.
Suggested donation for adults is $10.
Hope to see you! A viszontlátásra!
